- To educate our students on the science of what they eat
- To practice sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint
- To provide produce for our healthy, hot lunch program prepared fresh on campus
- To shine the light on sustainable living for our community
Garden Ribbon Cutting:
Ribbon cutting event will be October 24, 2015 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM.
We will have a sustainable, drought tolerant planting-how-to-session by Mike Garcia of EnvironscapeLA as well as refreshments. Gather and help us cut the ribbon and open the garden for business. Soon it will provide the produce used for our healthy, hot lunch program prepared fresh on campus and enable our students to understand the science behind what they eat.
Our Garden in the News:
If you wish to make a donation to help us grow our garden and implement phase II of the plan, please make donations to South Bay Junior Academy and enter “Garden” in the memo line of your check. Thank you.
